Eon Instrumentation received a production contract valued at $6.5 million from NSWC Crane Division for the Pre-Trigger Converter and Blanker (PCAB) for the AEGIS SEWIP Block 2 Program. The Navy previously awarded Eon, as prime contractor the development and LRIP contract for the PCAB. The PCAB, or SLA-10D unit, replaces the legacy SLA-10B unit on the AEGIS system.
Eon will be handling the work for this project both at its Headquarters in Van Nuys, California and its facility in Oceanside, California. Eon’s President and CEO, Dr. Jim Winchester, commented: “The US Navy continues to look to Eon Instrumentation for critical support such as the PCAB production contract for the AEGIS system. Eon was privileged to be selected for the initial development and LRIP PCAB contract and is honored that the Navy selected Eon for the PCAB production contract. This award further enhances Eon’s reputation as an expert designer and builder of Interference Blanker Units for military platforms.”
